Make the GIF
- Copy the address of the xHamster video or Short and paste it into the GIF Maker, then press Open clip.
- Wait for the video to load. A Short takes a few seconds; a full-length video takes longer, because the editor loads the whole video into your browser.
- Drag the start and end handles under the preview around the moment you want. For a long video, zoom the filmstrip (Ctrl/⌘ + scroll, a pinch or Zoom to selection) to place them precisely, or type exact times in Start and End.
- Under Output, choose MP4 video or GIF.
- Press Create, check the result and press Download.
GIF or MP4?
An MP4 loop is usually many times smaller than the same GIF, looks sharper and can keep the sound. Choose GIF only for places that accept nothing else. GIFs get big fast, so the editor limits their length based on the size and smoothness you pick, up to 30 seconds, and shows the limit as you go.
Make it better
- Vertical from a wide video: press Crop, pick 9:16 and drag the box over the part to keep. See cropping to vertical.
- Boomerang: set Direction to Boomerang so the loop plays forwards then backwards, with no jump at the end.
- Captions: add up to three, in four styles, timed if you like.
- Speed: slow motion or sped up.
Is anything uploaded?
No. ClipMule only looks up where the video streams from. The video streams from xHamster straight into your browser, and the GIF is made on your device. Loops carry a small ClipMule mark in the bottom-left corner unless you switch it off under Output.
